Florence Soba, FNP

Congratulations to Florence Soba for being selected Provider of the Quarter. Florence started working for PTH as a per diem provider at MIC in November 2009. She came on board as a full time employee about a year later from Glenn Medical in Willows, CA.

Florence started her healthcare career as an RN at Rideout Memorial Hospital. After spending many years as a floor nurse she went back to school and became a nurse practitioner. She is an NHSC scholar.

In less than a year she was able to build a full practice. She has many loyal followers. She is hard working and dedicated to providing excellent care to her patients. In addition to a full practice at PTC, she also works at MIC on weekends. She is pleasant and easy to get along with. She works well with her peers and support staff. Florence is a great addition to the PTH provider team.

Florence is a single parent with 3 children. Two are in college at Chico State and her 3rd child is in High School.

Congratulations Florence, Provider of the Quarter for April, May and June.

Our 2011 First Quarter winner is:

Kim Fritz, FNP/PA

Kim Fritz started her healthcare profession in 1992 when she was hired by Fremont Rideout Health Group to work as an RN in the emergency room. She went back to school and by 2000 completed the FNP/PA program at U.C. Davis. She had a short stint at Fremont Rideout Comp Clinic before she finally settled at Peach Tree Healthcare.

Kim has a full practice and takes excellent care of her patients. She is well trained and has many years of experience. Kim is kind and compassionate and is a great patient advocate. She is extremely generous as well. She donated 40 hours of her PTO to another employee who was ill. She is a great mother who can give us all a lesson in raising a child with a physical disability. She does an excellent job balancing her duties as a mother, a professional and as a person.

Kim has always been a team player both at work and at play. Her last contribution to our organization is coming up with a name for our fast track clinic – Peach Express.

Kim is active in Penn Valley Little League and school functions including annual scoliosis screening for the schools in Penn valley community. Kim's hobbies are horseback riding, mosaic art, gardening and raising Sulcata Tortoises.

Born and raised in Alaska. In 1991 Kim's family moved to the foothills of Nevada County in a small mining town called Rough and Ready. She is married and the proud mother of 2 sons. Her oldest son is an engineering student at Sacramento State University and her youngest is in 3rd grade.

Congratulations Kim Fritz, our Provider of the Quarter For January, February, and March.

Our 2010 Fourth Quarter winner is:

Philip Gauslin, PA-C

Philip opted to transfer his employment to us when Live Oak Medical Clinic was turned over to PTH by Biggs-Gridley Hospital. He has been a model employee from day one. He is a quality provider who is always cheerful and positive. He is caring and kind to his patients. His work is thorough. Philip is well liked by clinic staff, colleagues and his patients as well. Other employers have attempted to win him over to their clinic but he remains loyal to PTH. Being bilingual, he is a perfect fit for Live Oak Medical Clinic.

Several months ago he decided to cut back on his hours so he can spend more time with his family. He has two young children. Philip has the right priorities and a bright future ahead of him.

Congratulations Philip Gauslin, PA-C, our Provider of the Quarter For October, November, and December.

Our 2010 Third Quarter winner is:

Rosalie Pena-Pridemore, M.D.

Dr. Pena was hired a year ago to work at Sutter Count y Clinic. She was assigned to MIC while waiting for approval of our change of scope application. She is much settled and happy where she is now and she wants to stay at MIC. And that is fine with all involved. Staff at MIC love working with her. The providers receive a lot of support from her. She is a great resource and a teacher to them. She brings leadership to a facility that has not had a full time physician on site. With her skills, knowledge, and attitude, MIC has expanded its scope of practice. They see patients with more difficult problems who in the past were automatically sent to the Emergency Department. She is a team player volunteering to stay longer so the PM shift can take a lunch break. Above all she is a great clinician who truly cares for her patients.

Congratulations Rosalie Pena-Pridemore M.D., our Provider of the Quarter For July, August, and September.

She enjoys dog performance events. We thank Judy for her dedication and all the work she does.

Congratulations Judy Newman, our Provider of the Quarter For April, May and June.

This award comes to Jen for the second time since 2006. She is well trained and has many years of experience. She is capable of working independently as a Family Nurse Practitioner with little support from supervising physicians. Jen is a committed patient advocate always looking after her patient’s interests. She is dependable and a loyal employee of 23 years. She is a big contributor to policy making with her participation in various committees, always working for the good of the organization. As good a nurse practitioner as she is, she is even a better mother whose life and energy is dedicated to her family, especially her two daughters. Neil will gladly say that behind every successful woman is a great husband.
